Ceremonial Cacao

Welcome to the land of ceremonial cacao, a chocolate that is good for you physically, mentally and spirituality. Packed with minerals and mood-lifting compounds, ceremonial cacao is a high-quality raw form of chocolate, and has been used in ceremonies and rituals for centuries. Here are just a few of the reasons why incorporating Cacao is potentially my favourite new wellness ritual…

  1. Health Benefits

The physical benefits of high-quality, raw cacao are widely varied and impressive; it’s packed with an extremely high concentration of antioxidants, B vitamins, iron, calcium, magnesium and more. Raw cacao has been found to lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol, raise serotonin levels, improve cardiovascular health, reduce inflammation and more.

  2. Emotional Benefits

Cacao contains a range of compounds that have been shown to have a positive impact on emotional and mental health. These include phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a natural mood enhancer and anandamide, which is a neurotransmitter that can help improve mood and reduce anxiety. The theobromine in cacao can also have a calming effect on the body and can held reduce stress and anxiety.

  3. Spiritual Benefits

Ceremonial cacao has been used for spiritual purposes for centuries. It’s considered ‘food of the gods’ in Central and South America, and the scientific name for cacao is Theobroma cacao, which directly translates to ‘food of the gods’ in Greek. The plant in its purity is regarded as sacred, and has been used in ceremonies by the Aztects and Mayans for thousands of years. It is believed to have a powerful spiritual energy that can help to connect us with our inner selves, to open up the heart chakra, deepen meditation and inspire creativity and openness.

Happy drinking my loves!
